Last week,

Bobbi Brown
and I jumped onto Zoom with some of our Substack subscribers so she could give me a live virtual makeup lesson. She very kindly offered to help after I wrote a piece about wanting to look like myself on my wedding day (i.e. not overly glam with lots of heavy product on my face) and being a self-confessed amateur when it comes to beauty.

Bobbi sent me a package of goodies from her brand, Jones Road, and talked me through how I could create a bridal look I’d feel great in on the day, in just 30 minutes. She then sent me a face chart with all the products used and where, plus we recorded the call so I (and you) could watch it again. That’s my idea of easy makeup.

The Process

The call was 45 minutes so grab a cuppa and settle in.

Watch for…

  • The face makeup we applied that actually looked and felt like my skin, in the best way.

  • Me trying pink face powder for the first time (I would never have thought to pick this shade up!)

  • The lip pencil and gloss I loved (and didn’t feel sticky at all).

  • A shimmery eyeshadow that created a beautiful and subtle effect.

  • How to make sure your makeup looks great in photos.

  • And what Bobbi Brown really thinks about primers.
