I love an oversized shirt…. On everyone else but myself! At 5’1” and a small build, I often struggle to wear them without feeling like they’re wearing me. It feels like there isn’t enough décolleté or wrist I can show to make up for it.
My wardrobe wish list/Notes even says “Button downs never make me feel like they look in a product listing photo. Find out why before you buy any others!”
Any ideas? Is it a matter of tailoring? I’m willing to invest in the garment if it means enjoying it
I feel you. I'm also petite (although slightly taller at 5'4") and some items on me don't look anything like they do on the model! I would always roll or push the sleeves up - either to 3/4 length or to the elbow. Also, try tucking them into a high-waisted trouser (or shorts in summer). This will give the illusion of longer legs and it won't feel as overbearing on your frame as leaving it out and loose would.
I cannot believe how much, in the last year, an oversized shirt has become one of the most indispensable items in my wardrobe. Love all of your styling (though as a full busted woman I personally can't bring myself to button anything to the collar!!) and the navy Uniqlo shirt is fantastic (the shape and style belie its inexpensive price point!).
Every time I see that sage green Uniqlo U shirt I kick myself for not getting it. Picturing it with every other outfit! I definitely want to get hold of a nice oversized linen shirt for this year, that doesn’t read ‘beach’. I went quite hard for cropped shirts last year and I’m not quite sure if they still feel right.
There's definitely a place for cropped shirts (great with anything high-waisted) but an oversized linen is always a good idea - I wear mine with everything.

Hope that helps - let me know how you get on!
Great outfits! Love your signature silhouette x
Thank you Jenny!

They're so versatile! And so great for layering so you really can wear them for all seasons. Agree on the Uniqlo shirt, it was such a great find.
