For anyone with pizza feet, aka the front of your foot is wide and heel is narrow, the A. Emery sandals are forgiving because they are suede and very comfy (tevas are my religion I don’t say this lightly). I think soft material like suede that is malleable is easier to break in than a harder leather.
The MK teva sadly didn’t work on me because the footbed was too narrow, but the Teva Hurricane fits well and has adjustable Velcro straps. Teva and Sorel have a lot of gorp-y sandals that you can get wet.
In the US for flat sandals I’ve found that Eileen Fisher makes a cute shoe. I wouldn’t wear them for 2+ mile days but they are comfortable and elegantly simple. Also a fan of Nike air rifts if I’m in a city because I do in fact sweat during the summer and they keep my feet out of anything unsavory.
Totally agree, that’s bonkers for shipping! I’ve noticed a lot of wrap style sandals like the A. Emery pair. Zara has had some fun and reasonably priced shoes this season.
I have big fat baby looking feet so i struggle with sandals especially when they swell. The feet, not the shoes. 😜Even if they fit, they look terrible. But I wear Arizonas all summer long (I have multiple colors) and I have the Rothy and Boston clogs.
What an incredible edit!! I ALSO just bought the Olsen Tevas last week which really felt like a whole new era for me bc I never thought I’d ever ever buy a Teva in my life 😂 but I agree they’re comfy and interesting- much to my surprise!
Were the Tevas very tight for you during the first wear(s)? They leave pretty deep marks on my foot after the first two wears and in reviews I read a lot of people sending them back because of that, but I’m wondering if they will loosen up a bit after a few wears…?
They were quite tight, yes. I had to fiddle around with the straps a bit to find a comfortable fit and wore them around the house for a while to break them in. That did help loosen them up and I find them really comfortable now!
That is good to know, thanks! I adjusted the straps as well but now they’re not supertight at any place but still tight (and leaving marks) on all places on my foot haha. But I’ll give them some more time!
I love all my sandals for shorter outings. For Lora of walking, I have been wearing the Salomon Marie-Jeanne with everything lately. Maybe I’m late to the game with knowing how great of a shoe it is for running around the city but I’m happy nonetheless!
So many good options! I own a pair of flats from Aeyde and they're insanely comfortable. So I know I need to get another pair. Now I have Kristen on my radar!
Seriously, I was just wondering why we don’t have a female magazine with a shoe editor and fashion advice.. like Vogue. And you pop up. I need ALL of this!
Toast is brilliant, a bit of a British institution. Great shapes, fabrics and quality. They recently opened some stores in New York - if you're ever there, they're worth going into and seeing it all in person.

Totally agree with you about the suede, Lee. They're so comfortable and I didn't need to break mine in at all before wearing them.
Thanks for sharing those recommendations, the Teva Hurricane sandals are a great choice.
The A. Emery shoes are so beautiful and I was willing to pay the price for a good shoe. . but $70 USD shipping to Canada? Can’t do it :-(
Wow, that is steep! They sell them on Net-A-Porter, I don't know what shipping is like to Canada, but it might be more palatable?
If not, it looks like A. Emery is stocked in a few stores in Canada - https://aemery.com/pages/stockists
That’s good news, thank you! I’ll check these out!

Thank you! I’ll check Zara out.
Thank you! This is me. Have you found any cute skimpy sandals?
I just ordered these from Eileen Fisher and am cautiously hopeful they fit me: https://www.eileenfisher.com/kauia-tumbled-leather-sandal/EF50811B.html?dwvar_EF50811B_color=242
Very interested in this, but wanted a back strap: https://www.garnethill.com/eileen-fisher-dorado-sandals/703338?offers_sku=503076%20BLCK%208&SourceCode=DGW42B&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=GH+Network+PLA&utm_content=GH+Network+PLA&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=600670743&gbraid=0AAAAAD3LCpKC4VGDAVMugs2BBhPGEJWYH&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiqbBBhCAARIsAJSfZkYemozXdv1MGghfq--Hi2f0OqwTDZ9IzCwl4dW6ezfKbcgE_BvSDe8aAj-bEALw_wcB
I have and like these in a metallic suede, which stretch out to fit my feet: https://www.eileenfisher.com/dello-nappa-leather-wedge-sandal/EF50027B.html?dwvar_EF50027B_color=001
Those are both very cute. Let us know how the first one work out.
The front of my foot is too wide. Back they go, and so the search continues 💸🙃
Boooo
Thanks for reporting back

You can't go wrong with Arizonas!

Me neither! But they don't really look like Teva sandals, which helps 😅

Ooh, they look great (and sooo comfortable!)
Really appreciate the recommendations for narrow feet-really neglected area…
Wait I did not need shoes until I read this!
I hate showing my feet so much so thank you for including also some lovely ballerinas ahah amazing selection as usual xxx

Finding shoes you like that are comfortable is harder than it sounds! So definitely worth investing in the ones that work.

Very well done! So cute.
Ahh thanks, Allison. Glad to be of service!
How did the two pairs I clicked on take me to Toast and I’ve not heard much of Toast?! OBVIOUSLY I need to spend some time exploring.
I’ve been obsessed with TOAST for years.
Same, so many of my favourite pieces are Toast!

Salt Water Sandals are my everything, and so glad you agree. I loved this roundup and now have a few more sandals on my mind for this summer.
They're so hardy! I've worn mine so many times and they still look new.
Or I can pay my rent…they are really beautiful. Don’t get me wrong.
Love and have most of them! But thanks to identical more affordable versions…
