The 'Base' Outfit I Wear Again and Again
And switch up a couple of pieces to create completely different looks.
Last week I spoke about my go-to process for getting out of a style rut on those days when I’m feeling uninspired - and how part of that involved having a pretty solid capsule wardrobe. In today’s post, I’m going a little more granular and focusing on the ‘base’ outfit I wear time and again. Judging by how old some of the below images are, I’ve been doing this for the past three or so years. Proof, if it were needed, that style really can be timeless - sometimes all it needs is a slight styling tweak to keep it feeling fresh and new.
Said ‘base’ is a pair of cropped black trousers with leggings underneath (mostly to keep ankles warm but also for that silhouette) and a black tee, black jumper or black shirt. I’ll switch it up by changing my jacket and shoes of choice, each time creating a completely different look, even though only a couple of pieces have changed.
