I got engaged recently so I’m currently in saving mode for the wedding… This means I’ve put myself on a self-imposed shopping ban (which, as you’ll see below, hasn’t gone brilliantly so far). So in my attempt to curb spending, there are just five, very well chosen, items on my wish list this month, plus a couple of exclusive discounts for subscribers to The Jones Report.
These pieces are all from brands that I love and deserve a spotlight - for their unique designs, ethical practices and timeless (but never boring) additions they’ll make to your wardrobes. So go, enjoy, and let me know if you buy anything - purely so I can live vicariously through you and your new purchase.
The Bangle
Every time I put these monthly wish lists together, I end up adding at least one item to basket… And this month it’s this bangle’s turn. I don’t have many bracelets (I don’t think I like having things on my wrists, except a hair bobble) but sometimes I’ll be getting dressed for a wedding or big event and feel like my outfit needs a something little more. Maybe the main item I’m wearing doesn’t quite work with a necklace and as someone who doesn’t have pierced ears, earrings are pretty much out of the question. I’ve got a wedding coming up in a couple of months and the dress I have in mind to wear is the perfect example. The neckline won’t suit a necklace but a dainty yet unusual bracelet? Now that would work.
The Jacket and Trousers
Nemcee is a new find for me and I’m so glad they’re now on my radar. This brand designs and makes its pieces in Stockport, Greater Manchester, and goes to great lengths to ensure everything is produced in the most sustainable way possible. As for the designs, they’re utilitarian, genderless and very much up my street. I’ve particularly got my eye on this duo: The Curve jacket and trousers, both in a cotton/linen mix (which I’ve been told has been discontinued by their supplier so numbers are limited).
The jacket blends elements of split-seam work shirts, cropped military field jackets and kimonos, while the trousers have a curved shape with a drawstring waist. They’re both made to order, so you’ve got the added benefit of having the pieces tailored to your measurements too. Expect a maximum of four weeks to receive your order. Good news if you’re outside the UK - Nemcee offers international shipping.
And in even better news, Nemcee is offering all subscribers to The Jones Report 20% off any order. Simply add code THEJONESREPORT at checkout.
